Installation Guide

1 Download the APK File

First, download the ADUSTECH app to your Android device:

1. Visit the download page
2. Tap the "Download APK" button
3. Wait for the download to complete (~50 MB)
4. You'll see a download notification when complete

2 Enable Installation from Unknown Sources

Android requires you to allow app installations from sources other than Google Play Store.

For Android 8.0 and above:

1. When you tap the downloaded APK file, you'll see a prompt
2. Tap "Settings" on the prompt
3. Toggle "Allow from this source" ON
4. Tap the back button to return

Alternative method (if needed):

1. Open Settings on your phone
2. Go to Security or Privacy
3. Find "Install unknown apps" or "Unknown sources"
4. Select your browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
5. Enable "Allow from this source"

3 Install the App

Now you're ready to install:

1. Open your Downloads folder or tap the download notification
2. Tap on the adustech.apk file
3. A screen will appear with app details
4. Tap "Install" at the bottom
5. Wait for the installation to complete (usually 10-30 seconds)
6. Tap "Open" when installation is complete

4 First Time Setup

When you open the app for the first time:

Grant Permissions

The app will request permissions. Tap "Allow" for:

• Notifications: To receive important announcements
• Storage: To save your profile picture and files
• Camera: To take photos for posts (when needed)

Create Your Account

1. Tap "Register" on the welcome screen
2. Enter your full name
3. Use your ADUSTECH student email (@students.adustech.edu.ng)
4. Create a strong password (at least 6 characters)
5. Tap "Register"

Verify Your Email

1. Check your email for a verification code (6 digits)
2. Enter the code in the app
3. Tap "Verify"

5 Complete Your Profile

After verification, fill in your profile details:

• Department: Your academic department
• Level: Your current year (100L, 200L, etc.)
• Faculty: Your faculty
• Profile Picture: Optional but recommended
• Bio: A short description about yourself

This information helps you connect with classmates and receive relevant updates!

6 Start Using the App!

You're all set! Here's what you can do:

• View Timetables: Access your class schedule
• Check Events: Stay updated on campus activities
• Join Channels: Connect with your department
• Read Posts: Get campus news and updates
• Customize Profile: Make it yours!

Troubleshooting

"App not installed" error

• Make sure you have enough storage space (need 100MB free)
• Delete any old version of the app first
• Restart your phone and try again
• Re-download the APK file

"Parse error" when installing

• Your Android version might be too old (need Android 8.0+)
• The download might be corrupted - download again
• Make sure the file is completely downloaded

App crashes after installation

• Clear app cache: Settings → Apps → ADUSTECH → Storage → Clear Cache
• Make sure you have Android 8.0 or higher
• Uninstall and reinstall the app
• Contact support if the issue persists

Can't register with my email

• Make sure you're using your official ADUSTECH student email
• Check if you already have an account (try "Forgot Password")
• Email might already be registered - contact support
